The Brief

As a start-up business The Marketing Department (TMD), a small strategic marketing company, approached us to create a brand identity that would impress potential clients and also reflect their values of passion, energy and creativity. We worked closely with TMD and found through research that the market is saturated with marketing brands that all had a similar proposition. The business driving force Clare Taylor had a clear brief, create a brand with impact and disrupt the marketplace full of tired corporate looking businesses.

What We Did

We worked with Clare Taylor to understand her purpose and values, she wanted TMD to stand out and differentiate itself. Our idea was a simple – reflect the values of passion, energy and creativity through being bold, colourful and different. These three principles inspired our creative approach.

Brand Identity

We got to work on developing a dynamic brand identity that was more than just a logo. Alongside the new TMD symbol, we created a series of shapes that can be used together as a graphic language. The colours and shapes represent the five areas of the TMD business offering – strategy, marketing communication, PR, social media and events.

Visual Identity

The brand is simple, energetic and demonstrates the passion for what they do. The brand identity is designed to capture the attention of potential customers, shout from the rooftops and have visual impact. It was important the visual identity helped attract new business and communicate the spirit and energy of the TMD team.
